Newell Proud is a regional campaign created by Brooks Newell Region Economic Development to support local businesses and encourage shopping local.
The campaign aims to promote shopping local within the region, and help raise the profile of local businesses and diversity of goods produced locally. It also supports the retention and expansion of independent and locally owned businesses by creating awareness about the personal, community and economic benefits of choosing to shop local.
All businesses in the region are asked to join in and promote this initiative, emphasizing the dual payoff for residents and businesses alike as local shopping habits increase.
Newell Proud Brand
Along with the campaign, a brand was created to connect local businesses, artisans, residents and visitors. Two logos have been designed to represent the brand. ‘Newell Proud’ is for all businesses within the County of Newell and ‘Newell Made, Newell Proud,’ is for all artisans and locally made products.
Local businesses and artisans are welcome to take advantage of the brand’s logo to promote their business and or the products they produce. Stickers are available in limited quantities to place on locally made products and can be obtained at City Hall in Brooks. The logo is also available electronically to those wishing to reproduce the brand. Please email ecdev@brooks.ca for more information.
